SPB Hospitality Appoints Robert J. Fargo as Senior Vice President of Development

Seasoned real estate and construction executive to oversee national development pipeline for SPB’s growing portfolio of brands

HOUSTON (Aug. 14, 2025) – SPB Hospitality, a portfolio company of Fortress Investment Group and a leading operator and franchisor of restaurant brands across the casual, upscale and quick-service dining segments, today announced the appointment of Robert “Bob” J. Fargo as Senior Vice President of Development.

A veteran of the restaurant, retail and entertainment industries with nearly three decades of experience, Fargo will lead all aspects of real estate, design, and con construction management for SPB Hospitality’s diverse portfolio, including J. Alexander’s, Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill, Amada, Village Whiskey, Krystal and Logan’s Roadhouse. He will be responsible for managing SPB’s national development pipeline, steering multimillion-dollar projects from lease execution to grand opening, and ensuring budgets and schedules are maintained with precision.

Fargo first joined SPB Hospitality in 2023 as Vice President of Construction and Design. His prior leadership roles include Vice President of Development at Ideal Image, where he oversaw over 40 buildouts and led initiatives that reduced capital expenditures by 15%, and Chief Development Officer for Seven Restaurants, where he streamlined franchise expansion for a 60-unit Burger King portfolio in South Florida. At PDQ Restaurants, Fargo grew the brand from 18 to 56 locations across nine states, building its development department from the ground up.

Krystal Announces Grand Opening Celebration in Walterboro with $1 Krystals

Southern slider icon to celebrate fifth South Carolina location on July 17

WALTERBORO, S.C. (July 11, 2025) – Krystal, the original home of the slider in the South, is opening its newest restaurant at 1222 Bells Highway in Walterboro on Monday, July 14, bringing its iconic square burgers and craveable comfort food to the Lowcountry. To celebrate, the location will offer $1 Krystals in-store only, that Monday through Thursday, culminating in a family-friendly grand opening event on Thursday, July 17.

The July 17 event will kick off with a 10:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local dignitaries, the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce and spirited performances by area high school cheerleaders. The celebration will also include spin-the-wheel games, prize giveaways and a live radio remote from the parking lot.

“Krystal’s been a Southern staple for more than 90 years, and we’re proud to continue growing in South Carolina,” said Kaitlin Stoehr, Senior Director of Marketing at Krystal. “The energy in Walterboro is incredible, and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests into this beautiful new space. Offering $1 Krystals is our way of saying thank you to the community and a fun celebration for both our loyal fans and those visiting us for the first time.”

The Walterboro location marks Krystal’s fifth restaurant in South Carolina, joining existing stores in North Augusta, Aiken, Gaffney and Orangeburg. The Orangeburg location, co-owned by Charlamagne Tha God, opened in December 2024 and introduced several exclusive menu items  — including Chicken Nuggets and the Sausage or Bacon, Egg and Cheese Waffle Sandwich — that have since launched systemwide.

Walterboro will offer a variety of menu items featured at select Krystal locations, including: the Signature Smash’d & Stack’d Burger, Birthday Cake Milkshake, Jumbo Chicken Tenders and Krush’d Sodas. 

The Walterboro location will open its doors at 6 a.m. on July 14, 2025, and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
